WEDDING CAKE BOOKING & INVESTMENT

Menu-Fern.png

Below you will find information on pricing, postal wedding cake taster boxes, consultations, portioning, delivery and health & safety. If you require any additional information or would like to discuss your order, please get in touch.

I recommend a minimum of six months’ notice for wedding cakes. May, June, July and August are typically my busiest months, so early booking is advisable. Orders at shorter notice will be considered where availability allows.

WEDDING CAKE INVestment

Each wedding cake I create is bespoke and individually designed to complement your day. Investment reflects the scale of the cake, the level of detailing and finish, and the number of portions required.

Starting guide:

Two tier (6” & 8” – serves approx. 60) – from £400

Small three tier (4”, 6” & 8” – serves approx. 80) – from £475

Large three tier (6”, 8” & 10” – serves approx. 110) – from £580

Four tier (4”, 6”, 8” & 10” – serves approx. 140) – from £700

All wedding cake commissions include a design consultation, bespoke proposal, professional delivery and set-up, and full allergen documentation for your venue.

I take on a limited number of wedding commissions each month to ensure every couple receives my full attention.

Celebration Cakes

I also create bespoke celebration cakes for special occasions throughout the year.

As each cake is individually designed, pricing varies according to size, finish and level of detail. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements and I will be happy to provide a quotation.

POSTAL Wedding cake TASter boXES

When designing your wedding cake, of course you want it to look beautiful, but it needs to taste every bit as good. I therefore begin the booking process with a wedding cake tasting.

My postal wedding cake taster boxes include six of your chosen flavours from the menu, delivered straight to your door for you to enjoy over a relaxed weekend at home. Whether that’s with a cup of tea or a glass of fizz. You may even wish to include members of your bridal party and make it part of the celebration.

Taster boxes are released in batches throughout the year and are available for postal delivery throughout England. Please contact me to find out when the next release will be, typically during the Autumn and Winter months.

A small ‘Save the Date’ fee of £25 covers production and postage of your taster box and secures your wedding date in my diary until we meet for your consultation. This fee is deducted from your final order total.

Consultations

I offer a consultation for couples seeking a bespoke wedding cake, carefully tailored to complement their venue and overall styling. Drawing on my experience, I guide you through the creative process, refining your ideas into something cohesive and beautifully considered.

Appointments are arranged at a time to suit you, including some evenings and weekends, and are typically held via Zoom or telephone, whichever feels most convenient.

Lasting around 30–45 minutes, the consultation allows us to discuss your venue, styling, colour palette and flavour preferences in depth. It’s an opportunity to refine your ideas and ensure every element of your cake feels intentional and perfectly balanced.

For those choosing a simpler buttercream iced design, a consultation may not be required, and details can often be finalised comfortably via email.

You are welcome to share any inspiration imagery you may have gathered, along with details of your colour palette, dress or chosen florals. These elements help me draw together a design that feels personal and beautifully aligned with your day.

Following our consultation, I will provide a bespoke design sketch along with a detailed quotation, allowing you to visualise your cake before it is created.

Portioning

During your consultation, I will ask you whether the cake is to be served as a dessert, or with coffee; this will determine the portioning size and how many people the cake is to feed.

I generally recommend that wedding cakes be cut in the following grid portion:

Dessert Portion: 1" x 2"

Coffee Portion: 1" x 1"

For celebration cakes, I recommend 1” x 2” portions.

Delivery

The Greenhouse Cakerie delivers wedding cakes across Northamptonshire, including Northampton, Daventry, Towcester and the surrounding counties.

On the morning of your wedding, I will personally deliver and set up your cake at your venue, carrying out any final touches to ensure it is perfectly presented and ready for your day.

Delivery and set-up costs are included within your quotation and are based on location and the complexity of your design.

For smaller single-tier wedding cakes, collection may be possible by prior arrangement. Full guidance will be provided; however, responsibility for the cake passes to the customer once collected.

Iced Sugar Biscuits

I also offer handcrafted iced sugar biscuits as a complementary addition to your wedding or celebration. Designed to coordinate with your cake and overall styling, they can be tailored to suit your colour palette and theme.

Often chosen as refined wedding favours or place settings, each biscuit is individually wrapped and finished with ribbon to complement your tablescape.

If you would like to include biscuits as part of your order, please mention this when enquiring.

Health & Safety Advice

All allergens present in your cake will be clearly identified. For celebration and occasion cakes, this information is provided on an allergy card supplied with your order.

For wedding cakes, a full allergen declaration is sent directly to your venue ahead of your wedding day, ensuring they have the necessary details prior to serving.

For tiered cakes, internal supports are used to ensure stability. These include a thin cake board between tiers and plastic dowels within the lower tiers. These supports should be removed prior to cutting and will be clearly visible once the tiers are separated.

Any non-edible decorative elements should also be removed before serving.

Where fresh flowers are used, suitability and preparation will have been discussed in advance to ensure they are safe for use on your cake and handled in line with appropriate food safety guidance.
